Brian Duffy
The late British photographer Brian Duffy is one of the most influential fashion photographers ever. His omnipresence in London during the Swinging Sixties gave him enough experience and cultural status to shoot portraits of The Beatles, Nina Simone, Sammy Davis Jr, Joanna Lumley, and many others, but perhaps most noticeably the the iconic Aladdin Sane album cover art for David Bowie.
His fashion, advertising, portrait, beauty, music, and reportage photography has been printed in international magazines like Vogue, French Elle, Glamour, The Sunday Times, The Telegraph, and others.
Solo exhibitions include the Museo Nazionale Alinari della Fotografia Florence, Monash Art Gallery in Melbourne, Australia and the Centro De Historias Museum Zaragoza, Spain. Duffy's work was also exhibited in the National Portrait Gallery (Beatles to Bowie), The Tate Liverpool (Glam) and the V&A (British Design 1947-2012).
