Lynn Goldsmith
Lynn Goldsmith is an American film director, photographer, recording artist, and all-around creative whirlwind who first picked up a camera in the mid 50s at the age of eight, and never put it down again. She is considered to be a pioneer in numerous areas of photography, like founding the first agency which focused on celebrity portraiture and being one of the first female rock and roll photographers. Naturally, her portfolio consist of intimate portraits of Elvis, Bob Marley, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, The 14th Dalai Lama, and countless other celebrities.
Goldsmith’s photographs of entertainment personalities to sports stars, from film directors to authors, from the extraordinary to the ordinary man on the street have appeared on the magazine covers of Life, Newsweek, Time, Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone, National Geographic Traveler, Sports Illustrated, People, Elle, Interview, The New Yorker, et cetera during her 50-year-long career.
Solo exhibitions include San Francisco Art Exchange, 2019, Gallerie 12 in Paris, 2016, The International Center of Photography, New York, 1995, and many others.
