Untitled #20 “Close to home” 2013

I have the great fortune to live in a very beautiful part of the Swedish countryside. But sometimes I find it difficult to be open to the awe-inspiring landscape right outside my front door and sometimes the beautiful surroundings are almost painful to behold. I have wanted these conflicting feelings towards nature to permeate my photos. The pictures in my book were taken between 2009-2012, a period when I had three babies. So motherhood and pregnancy was a constant theme in my life when I made the book. This has been a time when I have been blessed with so many wonderful things and I have tried to let this show in my work. The shining beauty of it all. But the pictures are also about transience or rather the fear of transience, the fear of losing what you have been given and the certainty that nothing lasts forever.
